With fall arriving and college football starting back up, basketball is taking a backseat in the national spotlight.
However, we’ll still see plenty of hoops news with high school recruiting now heating up. Official visits will really begin to ramp up this month, and ahead of that, Rivals has updated their Class of 2018 rankings.
Coming in at No. 1 was R.J. Barrett, who recently announced his visit schedule for this month and into the first week of October. Barrett will actually take his first official visit to UK this weekend and is planning to sign this fall.
Barrett edged Zion Williamson for the top spot, but the latter didn’t drop far at No. 2. Both of these guys are game-changing prospects who UK is firmly in the running for.
The new rankings have Immanuel Quickley climbing up to the No. 10 spot. He’s also the No. 2 point guard now behind only Duke commit Tre Jones. Quickley is now a top-10 prospect by Rivals and Scout.
Checking in at No. 8 is Simi Shittu, who is on the verge of landing a UK offer. Keldon Johnson, who just earned an offer from John Calipari, checks in at No. 18.
