The Kentucky Wildcats aren’t too focused on the Class of 2019, being that they don’t even have a pledge in 2018.
However, some big news in the 2019 class came Thursday with word that Charles Bassey is coming to the Bluegrass. According to Adam Zuvanich of the San Antonio Express-News, Bassey is transferring to Aspire Academy in Louisville.
A consensus top-10 prospect in 2019, Bassey is ranked No. 1 overall by Rivals.com. ESPN has him ranked second, while 247 has him at ninth overall. He already holds offers from UCLA, Kansas, Baylor and Texas A&M among others.
The 6-10 power forward is originally from Texas and has played at St. Anthony, but he and several other players were ruled ineligible last November,
Kentucky has yet to offer Bassey, but they have shown interest in him. He unofficially visited in June, and you can bet he’ll be taking more visits to Lexington now that he’ll be playing just an hour away.
