As expected, the Kentucky Wildcats have made the cut for Quentin Grimes.
The five-star guard announced his seven-school list on Thursday, which included UK:

The leader in this recruitment is thought to be Kansas Jayhawks, but UK has maintained interest in the combo guard since first offering him in March.
John Calipari wants to pair Grimes with fellow 2018 guard Immanuel Quickley, who is widely expected to pick the Cats sometime this fall.
Along with Quade Green and Shai Alexander potentially returning for the 2018-19 college hoops season, that makes for a crowded backcourt that Grimes may not want to fight for minutes in.
That’s why Kansas has been viewed as the leader in this recruitment, as they’ve been making Grimes a priority in 2018.
However, the Jayhawks could have their own crowded backcourt next year if Malik Newman and Lagerald Vick return. Kansas is also favored for five-star guard Devon Dotson in 2018, so that backcourt could be just as crowded as UK’s in 2018.
I still expect this recruitment to come down to Kansas vs UK, but it may take a while to decide based on what other 2018 guards do.
