Houston called, and Kentucky answered (as did many other programs).

The University of Houston basketball coach, Kelvin Sampson, tweeted this out on Monday.

And basketball programs around the country made their contribution, including Kentucky.

John Calipari has been vocal about the disastrous conditions in Texas.

“It looks like it’s just going to get worse too. You see the flooding and that stuff. It’s just awful,” said Calipari, via SEC Country. “The worst part of this will be when the flooding recedes and those houses are all — if you don’t get back in there and deal with the mold, you might as well tear down the house.”

Calipari also confirmed that Jarred Vanderbilt’s family was safe in Austin. Vanderbilt, as you may know, is an incoming freshman forward from Bellaire, Texas. He played high school ball at Victory Prep and has a great deal of friends and family enduring the hurricane.
