On Monday, Langford cut his list to seven, and UK was among those making the cut, according to Scout.com. The Indiana Hoosiers, Louisville Cardinals, UCLA Bruins, North Carolina Tar Heels, Kansas Jayhawks and Vanderbilt Commodores also made the cut. Duke was among the schools cut from consideration.
Langford played for UK head coach John Calipari for Team USA at the U19 World Championships in July, but the experience went so bad that is seems to have hurt UK’s chances.
Part of it was due to lingering back issues with Langford, which ended up sidelining him for much of the summer recruiting circuit.
Last week, UK extended an offer to fellow 2018 shooting guard Keldon Johnson, who is ranked just two spots behind Langford in the latest ESPN rankings.
It’s good to see UK is still on Langford’s list, so perhaps he’ll eventually visit Lexington. That could help swing things back in UK’s favor, though it’s hard to see him picking anyone other than Louisville or Indiana.
