Karl Anthony Towns was in Lexington this past weekend for the Alumni Game, and while there, reporters asked him about the 2017-2018 Wildcats.
Towns said that the team was very athletic and expected them to play fast, much like last year’s team which was Calipari’s fastest-playing team, according to 247 Sports Chris Fisher.
"One of the best fastbreak teams I've ever seen from a Kentucky team," Towns said. "They have so much athleticism. This Cats' team is going to be very high-flying."
It’s easy to see why Towns would say that. Kentucky will likely be one of the most athletic teams in the country next year with several versatile guards and wings, as well as big men like Nick Richards and Sacha Killeya-Jones that are athletic and can run the floor.
It also helps that Towns has seen those guys up close and personal, so hearing him speak so highly of the team is exciting news as Big Blue Madness is less than two months away.
Video of Towns and Rex Chapman speaking after the game can be found here.
