Former NBA MVP and reigning NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant recently went on the Bill Simmons podcast. Durant talked playing pickup games in New York City with Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, JR.. Smith, former Kentucky Wildcats center Enes Kanter and other NBA players.
He also mentioned playing with a pair of Kentucky freshmen, Hamidou Diallo and Nick Richards. Diallo, who declared for the NBA draft this past summer before opting out and returning to UK, is poised to be arguably the team's best player.
Here's tape of Diallo, Kanter and Richards in game action with the future Hall of Famers.
But they’re not the only Cats drawing praise from Durant. A former Cat looking to make the jump to NBA superstardom is Devin Booker, who Durant sees big things coming from very soon.
"I love Devin Booker, man," said Durant. "(You) better watch out for that boy because he is nice. He's next, I'm telling you!"
It's not everyday you get to play pickup games with the best players in the world. Judging by the footage, Diallo and Richards made the most of that opportunity. It’s also great to see Booker is so highly thought of in the NBA, especially by the reigning NBA Finals MVP.
