With the SEC regular-season schedule now set, we now have the full Kentucky Wildcats Basketball schedule for the 2016-17 season.
On Thursday, UK announced their full schedule for the upcoming season following the SEC releasing the full conference schedule for all 14 league members. As always, this will be stacked schedule for John Calipari’s Wildcats, which features a wealth of talent coming into Rupp Arena.
For UK, the SEC slate will feature home and away matchups vs the Florida Gators, Missouri Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies and Vanderbilt Commodores.
UK will also have home matchups with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels.
The Cats will hit the road to face the Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Arkansas Razorbacks.
In terms of preseason polls, Florida is getting a lot of top-15 love, while Missouri is also cracking the polls thanks to the addition of Michael Porter Jr. UK will get a chance to see arguably the best high school recruit twice this season, as Porter comes to Rupp Arena while also hosting the Cats.
But, while the SEC schedule is very promising, so too is the non-conference slate, which features matchups with the Kansas Jayhawks, Louisville Cardinals, UCLA Bruins, Virginia Tech Hokies and West Virginia Mountaineers. With the exception of Virginia Tech, all of those teams are ranked in the early preseason polls, including Kansas and Louisville both being in the top 10.
As for the 2018 SEC Tournament, it will be played west of the Mississippi River for the first time when the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., hosts the event from March 7-11, 2018.
We’ll update this post as television information and start times are announced. We already know the Kansas game will be a Tuesday night on ESPN, while the Louisville and UCLA games will be on CBS. Expect the rest of the games to be on the SEC Network, ESPN, ESPNU or ESPN2.
