Immanuel Quickley has cut his list down again. During an appearance on SportsTalk Live on CSN Mid-Atlantic Wednesday night, Quickley announced that the Maryland Terrapins had been cut from consideration. That’s fairly significant since Quickely is a Maryland native and plays high school ball at John Carroll School, but the home state school is now out of it.
The five-star point guard cut it to four back in May; Maryland, Miami FL, Kentucky and Kansas. This cuts it down to three with the Kentucky Wildcats still viewed as the heavy favorite.
It seems only a matter of time before he’s officially a Wildcat, so this cut doesn’t mean a lot. But if nothing else, it’s good to see Kentucky hasn’t fallen out of the race.
The 6-3, 175-lb guard has been “the guy” for John Calipari in the 2018 class, and the most likely UK commit since the start of UK’s interest in him. UK has offered other point guards like Darius Garland and Quentin Grimes in 2018, but Quickley has been atop their big board for a while now.
Quickley still has to make visits, and is expected to make a decision after taking those visits, which should come sometime in Late September or October.
