One of Kentucky’s targets in the 2018 class recently cut the Wildcats from his list of teams he is considering.

2018 forward Emmitt Williams, the #16 prospect in the class according to 247 Sports Composite, trimmed his list to seven teams. The list includes USC, Oregon, LSU, Kansas, Florida, Miami and Duke.

Kentucky had previously shown interest in Williams around the time of the Nike Peach Jam this summer, but an official offer never came. Williams showed the ability to play with top level talent when he went at Marvin Bagley III during the Peach Jam.

As of now, Florida and Oregon seem to be the favorites for Williams, with 38 percent in the 247 Sports Crystal Ball for each. Kansas sits at 3rd with 25 percent.

In terms of bigs, it seems like Kentucky may be prioritizing Canadian big man Simisola Shittu over Williams, although Shittu still hasn’t received an official offer yet.
