The Kentucky Wildcats may have found a new target at shooting guard in 2018.
According to Scout recruiting guru Evan Daniels, Keldon Johnson took an unofficial visit to UK on Tuesday.

And according to Pat Lawless, UK offered Johnson on his visit:
Keldon Johnson, a class of 2018 SG from Boo Williams (VA)/Oak Hill Academy (VA), has picked up an offer from Kentucky.

Johnson, a five-star small forward from Oak Hill Academy, is ranked the No. 1 player in the state of Virginia and No. 3 in the nation at his position. He’s also ranked 11th overall by 247 Sports, so he was someone that UK was probably going to offer sooner rather than later.
To this point, the Texas Longhorns and Maryland Terrapins have been viewed as the favorites in his recruitment, but that could get a big shakeup now that UK has offered. Oregon, UConn, Kansas Florida, Louisville, Indiana and Georgetown (where his brother plays) have also offered.
UK has been prioritizing other guards like Immanuel Quickley, Romeo Langford, Darius Garland and Quentin Grimes in the 2018 class, but only Quickley looks like an eventual UK commit.
In a recent interview with the Lexington Herald Leader, Johnson discussed his interest in UK, who he isn’t rushing to get an offer from. He knows that getting an offer from Calipari and UK can take time, but he’s willing to wait for it.
Now that he’s got the offer, expect UK to rise near the top of his list, though there’s a lot of work to be done in order to catch up to Texas and Maryland.
