College Football Top 25 Poll and Power Rankings Roundup

New, 1 comment

With the first AP Poll out, we round up all of the preseason polls and power rankings for the 2017 college football season.

With the first week of college football now here, every major top 25 poll has been released. The final one came Monday when the first edition of the AP Top 25 Poll was unveiled.

With it came a nice development for the Kentucky Wildcats, who garnered three votes, marking the first time in what feels like forever since UK was part of any discussion in a top 25 poll.

There was a brief point in 2014 during UK’s 5-1 start that the Cats got some top 25 votes, but that’s been about the only other time during Mark Stoops’ tenure that UK got any love from poll voters.

While top 25 votes are nice, UK is primed for a special season that could see the Cats actually make a top 25 poll at some point. Getting there will prove to be a major challenge, however, if the AP Poll is any indicator. That poll has four UK opponents in the top 25, including three ranked between 15-17, the highest of which being Georgia, who UK has to play on the road this season.

Here’s a look at the entire AP Poll:
