Mitchell Robinson down to Kansas Jayhawks and New Orleans Privateers

Five-star recruit Mitchell Robinson, a former Western Kentucky commit, has narrowed his decision down to New Orleans and Kansas, according to William Guillory Nola.com.

Robinson visited LSU, UNO and Kansas, but LSU is no longer recruiting him. After signing his letter of intent for WKU, he was granted release after leaving campus. He now has to get permission from the NCAA to play this coming season for another school.

After his UNO visit on Wednesday, Nola’s source says that the decision could come soon, though there’s no exact announcement date or time yet.

Robinson is ranked the No. 9 player in the nation by 247 Sports. He was once thought to be someone Kentucky would recruit last summer, but that was before he made the surprising decision to pick Western Kentucky. He became the school’s highest-ranked signee ever, but he’s already left campus.

If Robinson picks Kansas and ultimately gets a waiver to play for them next season, that will make them a legitimate Final Four threat, not to mention make that Champions Classic matchup with Kentucky even more daunting for the young Cats.
