The 6-8-, 195-pound wing is the No. 4 player in the nation based on the 247 Sports Composite. His Crystal Ball has him favored to pick Duke over Kentucky, 94 percent to six percent.
In an interview with Rivals, Reddish gave reason as to why each team made the cut for him. Here’s what he had to say about Kentucky:
Playing for Team USA under coach Cal gave me a pretty good idea of how he is as a coach. He likes to go and he’s super competitive. I totally understand why players want to play under him because he pushes everyone to be better.
Coaching Reddish is something John Calipari seems to have needed in this recruitment, otherwise this would be a runaway train with Duke getting 100 percent of Reddish’s predictions.
Speaking of Duke, Reddish also said he’s good friends with Tre Jones, who just committed to the Blue Devils, and is recruiting Reddish pretty hard.
With a decision possibly coming soon, Rivals contributor Krysteen Peek says that Reddish might not visit every school on his list before deciding.
With Reddish hinting a commitment is coming soon, expect him to possibly only take one to two visits instead of all five visits before he makes his decision.
That note about Reddish taking only 1-2 visits could be good or bad news for Kentucky. If he only takes one visit and it’s to Duke, that almost certainly means Reddish isn’t picking Kentucky.
But if Reddish does take a visit to Kentucky and makes a decision soon after, that would bode very well for the Cats.
And if nothing else, Reddish deciding soon could get the ball rolling faster with Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, two other elite wings who could commit this fall.
