We still don’t know what Dominique Hawkins will be doing this fall when basketball and football open back up.
Hawkins has been hoping to land a training camp invite with an NBA team, but he’s also considering overseas opportunities. It also sounds like the NFL may have some interest in the former Kentucky Wildcats guard.
In an interview with ESPN 680, Hawkins revealed that he had a recent workout with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Before the NBA Draft, the Lexington Herald-Leader published a story on Hawkins confirming that NFL teams have interest. Hawkins hasn’t played football since high school, but his freakish athleticism has gotten him some interest from NFL teams.
It remains to be seen if that will actually lead to a deal that gets him into an NFL training camp, but it is good to see him getting interest from pro teams. Perhaps he can try out for a CFL or Arena team if he wants to play football, though I think it’s more likely he ends up playing overseas somewhere.
