Kentucky Basketball team works out at Kroger Field

Sacha continues to transform his body, while Vanderbilt looks like there are no lingering foot issues.

The Kentucky Wildcats held a late-night workout recently at Kroger Field.

No, it wasn’t the football team working under the bright lights, but instead, the basketball team hit the field for a midnight workout that makes all of us feel wimpy.

The guys ran stadium steps, pushed weight sleds, heavy bags, balls and ropes and more in preparation for the 2018 season. That gauntlet also included Jarred Vanderbilt going through it, which is great to see as he appears to be fully recovered from his offseason foot injury. If he can stay healthy, Vanderbilt has a world of potential heading into next season, and h could end up being UK’s x-factor heading into March.

Also, Sacha Killeya-Jones has completely transformed his body from last season. He was too soft and timid in the post far too often to earn meaningful minutes, but he’s made sure to bulk up and not have those issues come next season.

We can only take away so much from these workouts, but it’s great to see them already bonding through an intense workout regime.

Here are just a few scenes from the workout.

Strength and conditioning coach Rob Harris led the workout.

It’s clear that this group of guys know that a lot of hard work and dedication are needed to make this upcoming season successful and are willing to put in the work to make themselves better.
