NBA Trade Rumors: Kings offering De’Aaron Fox in deal for Kyrie Irving

The Kings may look to move De’Aaron Fox for Cavs’ All-Star guard.

As you may know, Kyrie Irving has made a shocking request to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It’s easily the biggest surprise in the NBA this summer, and it probably means Irving will be with a new team sooner rather than later. With so many Kentucky Wildcats in the NBA, there’s a chance that any trade involving Irving could involve some former Cats.

Case in point: the Sacramento Kings are making multiple players available in a potential offer for Irving.

According to NBA reporter Sam Amico, the Kings are prepared to offer Fox in a trade package for Irving, though it’s unclear if it would include other UK guys like Skal Labissiere or Willie Cauley-Stein.

The Sacramento Kings are putting together a trade offer for Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving, league sources told Amico Hoops late Saturday.

The proposed package is expected to include rookie point guard De’Aaron Fox, sources said, and perhaps center Kosta Koufos, as well as others to help make the salaries match.

Despite the Kings spending the fifth-overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft on Fox, he’s already expendable due to George Hill being signed to a big three-year deal this offseason. Hill won’t have much, if any trade value, but a young talent like Fox is probably something Cleveland wants in any potential deal for Irving.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors like this until Irving is traded, and expect several of them to involve a former Cat or two.
