Another summer tournament with a UK connection could be on deck.

Sacha Killeya-Jones may be getting to play hoops this summer in Europe.

No, Sacha isn’t leaving UK to sign with an overseas team. Instead, the sophomore-to-be forward was named to the preliminary 24-man roster for Great Britain in the 2017 EuroBasket Tournament:

According to MVP247, Sacha is eligible to play with Great Britain in the tournament through his British-born mother He is among 24 names picked by head coach Joe Prunty with training camp set to open in Manchester on July 31.

EuroBasket 2017 will be the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship, which is organized by FIBA Europe and will be held from August 31 through September 17. The tournament will be hosted by four countries: Israel, Romania, Finland and Turkey with the knockout stage host at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul.

I don’t know about you, but I’d be happy to have another summer hoops event to talk about involving UK guys. Covering the FIBA U-19 squad with P.J. Washington and Hamidou Diallo helped ease the summer lull of no sports (well, except for baseball), so getting to see Sacha possibly playing in this tournament would be great.
