NBA Rookie of the Year Odds Updated Following Summer League

Who will win the prestigious honor for NBA rookies?

With the summer league having concluded, Bovada just released updated odds for the 2017-18 NBA Rookie of the Year award.

De’Aaron Fox’s odds of winning the award dropped slightly from 7-1 odds down to 9-1. A big reason being is because the Sacramento Kings signed veteran point guard George Hill to a big contract, which likely ensures that Fox is brought along slowly rather than becoming the lead point guard right away.

Malik Monk’s odds didn’t change at all, as they’re still sitting at 16-1. It’s hard to see him making enough of an impact with the Charlotte Hornets while playing alongside scoring machine Kemba Walker.

Bam Adebayo is not currently listed among the odds for this award. Bam had a great showing with the Miami Heat in the summer league, enough to think it’s not impossible he contends for this honor.

As for the favorites to win the award, Los Angeles Lakers point guard and Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. lead the way. Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers is also among the top favorites, as he’s eligible for the award after missing all of his rookie season due to foot surgery.
