Reggie Perry draws interest from Kentucky Wildcats after decommitting from Arkansas Razorbacks

Is Reggie Perry on Cal’s radar now?

There’s somewhat of a rivalry brewing between Kentucky and Arkansas basketball...or at least, that’s what Arkansas fans would want you to believe. The hatred is certainly there.

And that makes the reports about 5-star commit Reggie Perry even more intriguing. Perry decommitted from Arkansas recently, saying that he wanted to be closer to home for his father.

"Unfortunately, I had to decommit tonight with Coach [Anderson] because of personal health issues with my father," Perry said, according to Scout.com’s Evan Daniels. "I have to do what is best for me and my family."

Since that decommitment, Kentucky has reached out to Perry, but has yet to offer him a scholarship. The 2018 big man is ranked 14th in the class by Scout.

“First I’d have to build a relationship with the coach and then obviously go on a visit to see how I like it there,” Perry said about Kentucky, according to SEC Country’s Joe Mussatto.

Kentucky is currently targeting Bol Bol and Marvin Bagley, as far as big men go in the 2018 class. But with a five-star big opening up, you have to think John Calipari will at least throw his hat into the ring on this one.

It also appears that UK could be falling behind for both Bol and Bagley, so Perry could be next in line for an offer if Calipari thinks the former two are trending elsewhere. Perry is certainly worthy of an offer from UK, though it’s hard to say yet if he deserves one over guys like Naz Reid, Moses Brown or Simi Shittu, other big men who UK has shown interest in at some point.

For now, let’s watch Perry do some work:
