Emmitt Williams hasn’t been talked about as a major recruiting target for Kentucky yet, but he could become a highly-talked about name soon.
Williams made a name for himself Wednesday night at the Peach Jam when he threw down a dunk on the #1 player in the class, Marvin Bagley III, not once but twice.

“I always wanted to go against him since I was in middle school,” Williams told Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader. “That I finally got the chance to go against him and show what I really can do against other top players is great.”
Kenny Payne has been in attendance watching the 6’8, 215 pound Williams, who averaged 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds during the Nike regular season.
And Williams said that he would love to receive an offer from the Wildcats.
“I would love to get an offer from them,” Williams said. “It would be a blessing to get an offer from Kentucky. I look up to those guys.”
Williams is currently thought to be looking at Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Duke, and LSU. However, it sounds like if Kentucky becomes more heavily involved, they would be right in the mix for Williams.
Williams had some glowing reviews for the Blue Devils, calling Coach K “the greatest coach in the world” and saying that Duke is “like basketball heaven” so Williams could be leaning toward heading to Durham, but this could be another Kentucky-Duke recruiting battle if the Wildcats become more heavily involved.
