Team USA Basketball opened the U19 World Cup with a dominating win over Iran, 108-48.
As has been the norm, the Kentucky Wildcats made a major impact as Hamidou Diallo and PJ Washington put up another solid outing. Diallo finished the game with team-high 17 points as he showed he can score in a variety of ways. It included tough finishes at the rim, mid-range jumpers and even a three-pointer. He also had this great block:

Both Diallo and Washington were relatively quiet in the first half, but Diallo exploded for eight quick points in the early part of the third quarter. Diallo actually finished 2-of-3 from three-point range as he continues to show his jump shot is not the weakness many have made it out to be. He also grabbed four boards and dished out two assists.
As for Washington, the incoming freshman forward finished with 13 points while chipping in four boards and two assists.
UK target Cameron Reddish was arguably the best player on the floor. finishing with 14 points, three boards, a block and four assists. His +/- of +36 was a team high. He also had no turnovers as he continues to shine as point forward in John Calipari’s offense.
Folks, Cameron Reddish is a point guard.
