Kentucky Wildcats Quickies: Super Regional Edition

Cats vs. Cards baseball, USA U19, Anthony Davis goes prime time, UofL Audit, and more.


Today at noon, the biggest baseball series in the history of the Commonwealth beings at 12:00 PM and the Louisville Cardinals take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

As this is UofL’s fifth straight Super Regional and the first ever for the ‘Cats, all the pressure is on the Cards.

The Cardinals are favored at home in the series, but there certainly seems to be something special going on with Nick Mingione and his Wildcats.

The Kentucky baseball team begins play in its first-ever NCAA Baseball Super Regional by facing Louisville. The two teams will meet in a best two-of-three series on Friday, Saturday and, if necessary, Sunday, with the winner advancing to Omaha for the College World Series next week.

Diallo, Knox and Washington are three of 28 players who accepted invitations to the training camp. Those 28 players will be trimmed down to a 12-man team that will compete in the 2017 FIBA World Cup in Cairo from July 1-9.
