UPDATE
Due to technical difficulties, the game was temporarily moved to ESPN3, and it will eventually be put on ESPN2.
The Kentucky Wildcats are still alive.
After beating Indiana in Sunday’s early elimination game, the Cats will be again fighting for their lives tonight when they host NC State. The game will begin at 7 p.m. EST and be broadcast on ESPNU.
The Cats must win this game to stay alive in the NCAA Tournament. If they are victorious, they’ll face the Wolfpack again on Monday in an elimination game for both teams.
It’s never an ideal scenario to win three straight games to avoid elimination, but that’s what Kentucky is facing after losing to NC State on Saturday night. If the Cats are able to accomplish this, they’ll likely face the Louisville Cardinals in the Super Regionals. The Cards have yet to lose in their regional. The two in-state rivals split the season series with Kentucky winning the scoring margin battle 14-12.
Let’s hope we get to see at least two more of those matchups if Kentucky can get past NC State tonight.
