Rumor. Denial. Rinse. Repeat.
That’s the annual venture we go on every summer as a new rumor of John Calipari having NBA interest pops up. That’s the case we’re going through again this year with news that the New york Knicks are the latest team to draw Coach Cals interest.
Coincidentally or not, these rumors first popped up while Calipari was asleep halfway across the world, around 1 a.m. local time in Egypt.
So you’ll have to excuse Calipari for waking up a little cranky to see rumors of his ‘interest’ in a job other than his current one.
NO ONE has contacted the Knicks on my behalf. I am the coach at Kentucky and will be for a long time!

Even in Egypt I can’t escape the rumors. Are you kidding me?! It’s 5 in the morning here and this is what I wake up to?

Off to go see the pyramids in a bit. And by the way, I like my team. And my @usabasketball team too!

Calipari isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The Knicks are a mess of a franchise, and it’s going to take a lot more to draw him away from Kentucky than the major rebuild that franchise is undergoing.
We may see Calipari go back to the NBA someday, but it’s going to be in a situation where he can win.
John Calipari has told confidants for years that if he goes back to the NBA, he's going back to win. Translation: He will be at Kentucky.
