Isaac Humphries is the latest Cat to get his NBA shot.
Per Fox Sports Australia, Humphries will join the Washington Wizards as part of their NBA Summer League team. If he earns an invite to training camp, Humphries will fight for a spot on the final roster with John Wall.
In his sophomore season with the Kentucky Wildcats , Humphries averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field.
He had his best night when the lights were brightest, scoring 12 points and grabbing five boards against North Carolina in the Elite Eight. That was the game that gave Humphries a national name, and it helped lead to him going pro.
“This decision didn’t come easily for me, Humphries previously said in a press release after signing with an agent. “My goal has always been to play professionally. There is no better place to prepare you to take that step than the University of Kentucky.
“Over the last two years, thanks to Coach Cal and the coaching staff, I’ve gotten so much better and improved my game. I believe I have a lot more I can do, but I also believe that the time for me to take the next step is now.”
Good luck to Humphries in his professional ventures.
