Coming into the NBA draft, speculation was abound that several former Kentucky Wildcats could be on the move.
We saw Julius Randle, Devin Booker and Eric Bledsoe all mentioned in various trade rumors, but one name not mentioned was Trey Lyles.
So surely enough, Lyles was the one who ended up getting dealt, and he’s now teaming up with another Wildcat. It will come by the Utah Jazz shipping Lyles to the Denver Nuggets, where he’ll team up with star combo guard Jamal Murray.
Utah will send Trey Lyles and the No. 24 pick to Denver for No. 13, league source tells @TheVertical.

The two Canadians will now team up in the Mile High City after Murray was drafted by the Nuggets last year. Lyles has spent two seasons with the Jazz, but their loaded frontcourt has made it difficult for him to see meaningful minutes with Boris Diaw and Derrick Favors occupying a lot of them.
Now, Lyles will get a chance for a fresh start in Denver with the up-and-coming Nuggets.
