The Kentucky Wildcats have caught the injury bug in Colorado.
Earlier Wednesday, Kevin Knox bowed out of the USA U19 training camp with a hamstring injury. It’s not serious and he should be fine, which sounds like the same kind of injury that PJ Washington is dealing with to his back.
The issue popped up Wednesday as Washington’s back tightened up while shooting.
“I’m doing fine. My back just tightened up a little bit. Trying to get it stretched out,” Washington told SEC Country.
When asked about his status for Wednesday’s evening practice, Washington replied, “It depends how I’m feeling later. Right now, I’m probably not going to.”
Again, this looks like nothing to worry about, though it remains to be seen if it means Washington will be bowing out as well.
“I’m planning to continue on, but I’m not sure my status with the team,” Washington said. “I feel like I did pretty good the last couple days, so I feel like I’m well off right now.”
If Washington leaves, that means Hamidou Diallo would be the only Wildcat heading to Egypt with John Calipari, assuming Diallo makes it through final cuts.
