The Kentucky Wildcats remain hot on the recruiting trail, and they’re now dipping into the 2019 class.
On Saturday, four-star safety Keontra Smith committed to Kentucky, according to 247 Sports’ Ryan Bartow:

The Hollywood (FL) star hails from Chaminade-Madonna Prep and is regarded as one of the top safeties in 2019. 247 ranks him as the fifth-best safety in addition to being the 57th-overall prospect.
The 5-11, 210-pound Smith already has offers from Auburn, Miami, Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon, Wisconsin and Oklahoma among others. Keeping Smith committed for nearly two years will prove to be one of Mark Stoops’ bigger recruiting challenges at Kentucky, but it’s still huge to have a pledge from a player of Smith’s caliber at any point in a recruiting cycle.
Smith is the latest Kentucky pledge from Chaminade Prep. Defensive tackle teammate Davoan Hawkins and wide receiver teammate Marvin Alexander are committed to the Wildcats for 2018. Defensive end Christopher Whittaker and wide receiver Josh Ali signed with the Wildcats in the 2017 class.
