Hamidou Diallo skipped Knicks workout that Bam Adebayo was part of

It looks like Hamidou Diallo was set to have one last workout before making his NBA Draft decision.

According to a report from ESPN’s Ian Begley, Diallo was part of a group scheduled to workout for the Knicks on Wednesday, but he ended up pulling out. The workout also included Kentucky Wildcats forward Bam Adebayo.

The Knicks workout today included Iowa State's Deonte Burton, Kentucky's Bam Adebayo, Purdue's Caleb Swanigan and LSU's Antonio Blakeney today, ESPN has learned. Kentucky's Hamidou Diallo was supposed to work out but pulled out. Diallo is reportedly deciding on whether or not to stay in the draft.

The fact that Diallo had this workout scheduled explains why he is waiting until the last day to make his decision, but seeing him pull out of it is a bit odd. Then again, the Knicks aren’t in position to draft Diallo where he wants.

New York holds the No. 8 overall pick, which is highly unlikely to be used on Diallo, then don’t draft again until pick No. 44 in Round 2. Diallo wants no part of that, so the Knicks don’t seem like a viable spot for him.

As for Bam, he’s in the draft for good after hiring an agent. However, a number of draft gurus are still projecting Bam as a second-round pick, though it’s hard to see him falling quite as far as No. 44.
