NBA Draft Combine 2017: Start Time, Date, TV Schedule, Online Stream, Participant List

NBA Draft hopefuls are converging on Chicago today to participate in measurements, drills, and scrimmages at the NBA Draft Combine.

All of the Kentucky draft hopefuls, minus Malik Monk, will be at the combine, but only Isaiah Briscoe will be participating in the 5-on-5 scrimmage, hoping to elevate his stock.

Measurements are being taken today to determine players’ heights, weights, wingspans, standing reach, and other measurements. Those physical measurements typically aren’t a huge factor, but can change draft status for players.

For example, Hamidou Diallo’s wingspan is expected to be among the highest among guards in the group. Bam Adebayo’s measured height could make a difference in his draft stock among teams.

Players will also go through athletic testing during the combine, which will be especially important for a guy like Diallo. If all his athletic testing goes well, teams near the end of the first round will be looking to draft him based on potential and athleticism, since he lacks game film to evaluate.

Following the end of the combine on Sunday, players will have 10 days to withdraw and return to school by the deadline of May 24. This week will be critical for players making decisions on their future.

The NBA expects 67 players to attend the NBA combine, but many of the top-rated prospects won't be present. Many of the top players who will attend will interview with team officials but won't be taking part in tests, drills or 5-on-5 work.

2017 NBA Draft Combine

When: May 9-14, 2017 (TV portion is from May 11-12)

Where: Quest Center in Chicago

Players: ESPN has an unofficial list of invited players, who include Fox, Bam, Briscoe and Diallo.

TV: ESPN2 will cover the NBA Draft Combine on Thursday and Friday from 3-7 p.m.

Coverage: The ESPN2 telecasts will include whip-around coverage from strength and agility drills and the four scheduled five-on-five scrimmages throughout Thursday and Friday. Simultaneously, ESPN3 will carry six surround feeds (no-step vertical leap, maximum vertical leap, pro lane agility, ¾ court sprint, pro lane shuttle drill and scrimmages) for the NBA Combine from 3-7 p.m. both days.

Online Stream: The 2017 NBA Draft Combine will also be streaming via WatchESPN and the ESPN app.

Eligibility: A number of players attending the combine haven't signed with agents and are eligible to return to college for another season. They have to make that decision by May 24, 10 days after the combine ends.

NBA Draft: The 2017 NBA Draft is June 22. The draft order will be set during the NBA Draft Lottery on May 16.
