The University of Kentucky will hold a special announcement today at 1 p.m. EST. It’s believed to be about corporate naming rights for Commonwealth Stadium. Big Blue Banter was the first to break this story last week.
Scheduled to appear at the conference will be President Eli Capilouto, Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart, UK Sports and Campus Marketing President Paul Archey, and Trustee and University Athletics Committee Chair Dr. C.B. Akins, Sr.
This comes after a successful 2016 football season that saw UK win seven games and get to a bowl game for the first time since 2010. It looks like UK is striking while the iron is fairly hot with new naming rights for the recently renovated Commonwealth Stadium.
When the event starts, you can live stream it here.
