Spring football is wrapping up, which means we’re just over four months until the start of the new college football season.
Kickoff for the Kentucky Wildcats’ season-opening football game at Southern Miss on Saturday, Sept. 2 has been set for 4 p.m. EST. at Carlisle-Faulkner Field in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The game will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network and broadcast live on the UK Sports Network.
UK leads the all-time series with Southern Miss, 2-1. This marks the second straight season the teams have met in the season opener. The Golden Eagles won last year’s matchup in Lexington, 44-35.
But after an 0-2 start to the season, Kentucky won seven of their next 10 games to make it to a bowl game for the first time under Mark Stoops. Now, the Cats will look to get some revenge while also starting off the 2017 season with a road win.
