Jemarl Baker recruiting update: 4-star guard releases list with Kentucky, Duke, others on it

Kentucky will have some competition for Jemarl Baker if they really want him.

Jemarl Baker will be getting a visit from John Calipari later this week. In the meantime, Baker has released his list of schools in consideration.

According to his AAU coach, Kentucky joins nine schools in the running for the four-star shooting guard out of California:

The former Cal commit is easily one of the best recruits on the market after he was released from his letter of intent last week. Seeing schools like Arizona, Oregon and Duke shows just how good of a get for Kentucky he could be if a scholarship offer eventually comes.

Since Calipari is coming to see Baker, that could be when an offer comes. However, Calipari is also considering Mark Smith, another guard who he’ll visit this week. Kentucky will probably add just two more players, one of which they hope to be Mohamed Bamba.

Calipari hopes ther other is Kevin Knox, though that’s looking more and more unlikely, which means another shooter like Baker could fill that spot.
