The Kentucky Wildcats will once again be well represented at the NBA Draft Combine.
Point guard De’Aaron Fox, shooting guard Malik Monk, power forward Bam Adebayo, combo guard Isaiah Briscoe and shooting guard Hamidou Diallo all received invites to the combine, which takes place from May 9-14.
None of these come as a surprise, being that most, if not all of these guys will hear their names called during the 2017 NBA Draft. Both Fox and and Monk are projected to go in the first 10 picks, while Bam may sneak into the latter part of Round 1, but he could slip into early Round 2. That is the same range Diallo is currently projected to go in.
Briscoe could hear his name called in the latter part of Round 2, but it’s more likely he goes undrafted, though he’ll have a great chance to boost his stock at the combine.
Sophomore forward Isaac Humphries was not invited to the combine as he looks to begin his professional career, whether it’s in the NBA or overseas. It’s possible he gets invited to the combine as an alternate if someone drops out.
Once the combine concludes, all of these players will likely begin having private workouts with NBA teams. That will continue leading up to the NBA Draft, which begins June 22nd on ESPN.
Good luck to all the former Cats participating in the combine.
