University of Kentucky Baseball Head Coach Nick Mingione has had quite a successful rookie campaign at the helm of the Wildcats program.
The Wildcats are coming off of a big week, where they defeated #2 Louisville last Tuesday 11-7 and then won a series over top-10 conference foe LSU, outscoring the Tigers 25-11 and finishing the week 3-1.
At the time of writing, the Wildcats boast a 28-13 record and a 12-6 record in the SEC. The conference record places them atop the East division.
Even more importantly, the Wildcats are a consensus top-10 team in the country right now.
Top 10 across the board this week but we've still got a whole lot of work to do and goals to accomplish. Head down, plow forward. #TEAM pic.twitter.com/Q7kIdI5XGj

For postseason purposes, this is important, as Kentucky is vying for a top 8 seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
Top 8 seeds are considered national seeds in the tournament, which provides home-field advantage in the Regional, as well as Super Regional. Obviously it would be beneficial for the Wildcats to be able to host those games.
Kentucky will have to take care of business in upcoming matchups against Xavier and South Carolina this week to continue on their path toward being a national seed, but regardless, Mingione has shown this season that he has the Wildcats trending upward in the conference and on the national scene.
