The final 247 Sports rankings are out for the 2017 class.
With it came some major movement for the Kentucky Wildcats, the biggest of which coming with Shai Alexander. When he originally signed with UK, Alexander was a four-star player ranked in the 40-50 range of most recruiting services.
Now, Alexander is a five-star player and the No. 19 overall player in 247’s final rankings. But even with the big bump, Alexander is just the fifth highest-ranked UK commit, trailing P.J. Washington (18), Nick Richards (14), Hamidou Diallo (10) and Jarred Vanderbilt (8).
Quade Green checked in at No. 30 and is now a 4-star prospect, which is the only real downer for the UK guys. Green is better than his ranking indicates though, and he’s expected to be UK’s starting point guard next season.
Diallo is still included even after enrolling early at UK this past season. Vanderbilt is now a top-10 player after falling into the the late teens last year. He’s been tearing it up on the high school all-star circuit, which helped lead to the big bump. New UK commit Jemarl Baker climbed up to the No. 83 spot.
As for the remaining UK targets, Mo Bamba checked in at No. 2 in the final rankings. Kevin Knox took a big dip all the way down to No. 17. Mark Smith is up to No. 137.
