It looks like we may not know the severity of Jared Vanderbilt’s injury for a few more days.
According to Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader, the results of Vanderbilt’s x-rays from this weekend have not come yet:
Vanderbilt's father told me this morning that they had not yet received results of this past weekend's X-rays. Injured at Jordan Classic. https://t.co/azjFx5Dhi1

Kyle Tucker of SEC Country adds that Vanderbilt still has another doctor’s visit coming up:
I'm told Vanderbilt still has a doctor's visit coming up, but doesn't sound like anyone fears worst-case situation with his injury Friday. https://t.co/Rakd6XxflM

It’s odd that they don’t know how bad the injury is after it happened Friday night. Perhaps Vanderbilt also underwent an MRI that they’re waiting on the results before making any kind of announcement.
It doesn’t seem like the injury was as bad as originally thought, but the fact that there’s still no word either way is concerning. Vanderbilt actually signed his national letter of intent on Monday, so he’s at least officially a Wildcat.
Let’s just hope he’s healthy and able to join his teammates later this summer for offseason workouts. Vanderbilt has a chance to be a major player on next season’s team, not to mention a possible one-and-done that hears his name called early in the 2018 draft.
