Kevin Knox recruiting update: Decision date pushed back after Missouri visit

Knox is waiting until closer to May before making his college choice.

Kevin Knox won’t be making his college decision this week.

The five-star forward out of Tampa was planning on picking a school sometime this week, but he’s now planning for a decision either at the end of April or beginning of May, according to Cats Illustrated.

The news comes after Knox just took his final official visit to Missouri this past weekend. He’s also visited Duke, North Carolina, Florida State and Kentucky. This recruitment has been viewed as a three-horse race between the three blue-bloods, though Duke and UNC are thought to be slightly ahead of Kentucky.

Part of that is because the Wildcats are expected to have Wenyen Gabriel back to join incoming freshman wings P.J. Washington and Jarred Vanderbilt. That’s going to make it hard for Knox to come in and have a major role next season, but that hasn’t stopped John Calipari from working hard to sell Knox on making it work.

I still expect this decision to come down to the Blue Devils or Tar Heels, but until a final pick is made, never count out Calipari and his Cats.
