As expected, Kentucky will draw Georgia in the quarterfinal round when the Cats begin SEC Tournament play.
The Dawgs were able to narrowly escape Tennessee with a 59-57 win Thursday, setting up a third Kentucky vs Georgia matchup. Both games thus far have been down-to-the-wire thrillers, and John Calipari is expecting another war in Round 3.
“We were down with 50 seconds to go,” said Calipari of the most recent matchup. “I mean, so, I know how good they are. I know how well coached they are. (Yante) Maten is back playing. You know what he—he’s one of the better four/threes in our league and a 20-point scorer, so it’ll be a war. They all are at this time.”
