Kentucky’s slow starts continued against Texas A&M, but it didn’t take long for the Cats to wake up as they raced past the Aggies, 71-63.
With the win, Kentucky has won the SEC regular-season championship, avoiding a share with Florida, who had a chance to tie for the title if Kentucky lost in College Station.
But despite falling behind 16-2, Kentucky stormed back to take a 32-28 lead at the half before cruising to a fairly easy win, a rarity as of late.
Freshman point guard De’Aaron Fox, a Texas native, had a nice homecoming in front of friends and family. He finished with a team-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-4 from deep, tying his career high for made threes.
