With the NCAA Tournament bracket set, we're getting one final round of top 25 polls heading into the Big Dance.
First, here's a recap of how the selection committee ranked all 68 teams:
Now, prepare to be more angry about Kentucky's tourney draw. The latest Coaches Poll saw the Cats climb all the way up to the No. 5 spot, ahead of North Carolina (8) and UCLA (6), both of whom join the Cats in a loaded South Region, which also has Wichita State, who checked in at No. 19 in this ranking, but somehow got a 10 seed.
Speaking of, Butler, who is the 4 seed in this region, checked in at No. 24 in the latest coaches poll. That's the team who likely will meet UNC in the Sweet 16, who will end up facing an easier Sweet 16 foe than Kentucky, who probably should have been the 1 seed over UNC, will in the round of 32 vs Wichita State. If Kentucky wins that game, they would likely face UCLA, who is ranked sixth in the Coaches Poll and probably should have been a 2 seed.
That all seems fair. Alas, we've come to expect nothing less when it comes to Kentucky's draw in the NCAA Tournament. And more often than not, they make the Final Four anyway.
Here's the fully-updated Coaches Poll:
