Kentucky whips Arkansas: Highlights, Box Score and Recap

Kentucky whipped the Hogs on the scoreboard and in sportsmanship.

The Cats are SEC champs again.

The latest title came after Kentucky was able to outlast Arkansas to win the tournament title. It was a game that was close throughout the first half before a late spurt put Kentucky up 12 at the break.

From there, the Cats would dominate for much of the second half before the Hogs went on a late run to make the game interesting in the final two minutes. The game got very chippy inside the final couple minutes after Arkansas hit six straight shots, the last a 3-pointer by Jaylen Barford, to pull within nine for the only time in the second half.

But on the hog’s next possession, Dusty Hannahs was then given a flagrant foul for knocking Kentucky guard Dominique Hawkins to the court with his forearms. Shortly after, Moses Kingsley was sent to the locker room with 1:02 left for his cheap shot on De’Aaron Fox.

Kentucky then finished the game by outscoring Arkansas 9-1, the final points a 3 by Fox. He finished the game with 18 points and was named SEC Tournament MVP.

This is the fifth SEC Tournament title Kentucky has won under John Calipari’s watch, and there’s now been only three years since 2009-10 that his team didn’t win the tourney championship. This is also the 30th time Kentucky has won the SEC tourney title.
