It’s been a wild SEC Tournament thus far, highlighted by two of the top four seeds already going down. The semifinal round should provide even more excitement as two spots in the SEC title game are on the line.
The fun begins with Kentucky and Alabama clashing in the first game at 1 p.m. EST. Thanks to a loss by North Carolina in the ACC Tournament, the Wildcats now have an outside shot at a 1 seed come Selection Sunday, but only if they win their conference tournament.
That begins with Alabama, who has to win the tournament just to make the Big Dance. The Wildcats won the previous matchup in Tuscaloosa, 68-57.
The second semifinal game features Vanderbilt taking on Arkansas. The Commodores likely have an NCAA Tournament berth secured after upsetting Florida in Friday’s action. Vandy needed to win a game or two to secure their NCAA spot, but they’d rather just win the whole thing in their hometown of Nashville.
The Hogs have locked up their NCAA spot and are just looking to boost their seed at this point. They narrowly escaped Ole Miss to cap off Friday’s action. Arkansas and Vandy split the season series with both teams winning on each other’s home court.
