Kentucky has scored another commitment in the Class of 2018.
The latest pledge comes from four-star tight end Brenden Bates, who pledged to Kentucky on Friday. He teased the commitment on Tuesday as he’s been trending towards the Cats for several weeks now.

You’ll be shocked to hear Bates is from Ohio and regarded as one of the state’s best prospects. Vince Marrow was his primary recruiter as he continues to kill it in the Buckeye state, and he hinted at this commitment coming today:

247 Sports has Bates rated as the 10th-best player from Ohio and the ninth-ranked tight end in 2018. He holds offers from West Virginia, Minnesota, Pitt, Indiana, Duke, Louisville, Iowa and Maryland among others.
This pledge also gives Kentucky a top-15 class in 2018 that should only climb higher in the coming weeks...
