Kentucky still has the No. 1 class in ESPN’s recruiting rankings for the 2017 class.

The Wildcats have six commits, and five of them (Hamidou Diallo, who kind of counts as the class of 2017, Nick Richards, P.J. Washington, Quade Green and Jarred Vanderbilt) are five-star recruits.

The other is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who’s a four-star recruit. He may not have five stars, but the combo guard out of Hamilton Heights High School is 20.4 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game. He’s also got a new highlight reel that’s just as impressive as his statline.

Kentucky’s six commits are tied for the most in ESPN’s top 40; the only other school with that many commits is the Xavier Musketeers (ranked 11th).

And the Cats may not be done yet. Five-star center Mohamed Bamba, five-star wing Kevin Knox, five-star guard Trae Young and three-star forward Andre Rafus are all still considering Kentucky.

But the Cats will have to hold off Duke to keep holds of the top spot. The Blue Devils are currently ranked fifth, but could make a major push if they land Knox and five-star point guard Trevon Duval, both of whom are considered Duke leans for now.
