KSTV recently had a phone interview with five-star forward Kevin Knox, a recruit that would really put UK’s 2017 class over-the-top.
Most don’t think that there’s room for Knox in a class that’s already stuffed with talent to go along with at least a few players who will surely return next year. However, Knox seems to think he’d fit great at Kentucky.
"Kentucky likes to run, I mean that’s something I like to do," Knox said. "I think I would fit really good in that class...At Kentucky, I could really see myself doing really good there."
Knox also said that coach Kenny Payne and football coach Vince Marrow have played a big part in his recruitment. He said his parents loved Payne, and his dad played with Marrow, so the two have a connection.
"Coach KP is another really good factor there. My parents really love him," Knox said.
He was also asked to scout his own game, and talked about how versatile he is.
Knox said he can play anywhere from point guard to power forward, he can get rebounds, start breaks, run plays and shoot from anywhere.
He’d no doubt be a great addition to the 2017 class, and it certainly seems that he’s more interested in Kentucky than most believe.
