John Calipari Promises Zion Williamson Scholarship

At 6'7" 220 lbs and just 16 years old, Williamson is an absolute animal and plays like a man amongst boys.

Spartanburg Day School phenom and elite 2018 recruit Zion Williamson is a lot of things. A freak athlete, a top tier recruit, a future star at the next level, but what Zion is not is a holder of a scholarship from the University of Kentucky. While that is incredibly weird and nobody is quite sure why Calipari has yet to send a scholarship to the South Carolina product, but Zion has assured us that Kentucky is all in on him.

While the official scholarship has not yet came Zion's way, a report on him by Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer confirms that Williamson has reportedly been promised a scholarship by Calipari. Whether that means he's for whatever reason holding out from offering him until the future or if it is simply part of Calipari's ritual when it comes to recruiting, Zion is getting an offer regardless.

Nobody can ever question Calipari's strategy when it comes to recruiting, but a consensus would say that Zion should get the official offer sooner rather than later. This is one of the top players of the 2018 class, and an absolute highlight machine when it comes to dunk. At 6'7" 220 lbs and just 16 years old, Williamson is an absolute animal and plays like a man amongst boys. He pulls off 360 windmill dunks in games, and well no high school team so far has been able to stop him.

A promise is a promise, but more than likely everybody would be more comfortable if Calipari went ahead and gave Zion his scholarship offer. The kid has a surefire love for Kentucky as was made sure in his visit during the Kansas game, and Williamson is simply too good to let slip away.
