Oh how sweet revenge can taste.
After getting walloped by Florida in Gainesville, the Cats got some payback with a 76-66 win in Rupp Arena. That came without star point guard De’Aaron Fox, who missed the game due to a knee injury.
But Malik Monk more than made up for Fox’ absence. The freshman shooting guard from Arkansas finished with a game-high 33 points on 9-of-18 shooting to go with five dimes and four boards.
Speaking of rebounds, Kentucky was dominated in the first matchup by a 4-29 margin on the boards. This time, the Cats controlled the glass with a 48-30 advantage. Bam Adebayo grabbed 15 of them in addition to 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
