After starting an All-American campaign for De’Aaron Fox, Kentucky is now doing one for Malik Monk.
Monk is closing in on the school’s freshman single-season scoring record set by Jamal Murray last year. Monk has scored 590 points through 28 games (21.1 points per game) after Murray set the record last season by scoring 720 points through 36 games.
Anytime you’re poised to set a single-season Kentucky Basketball record, you’re probably in the running for multiple postseason awards, and AA honors is something Monk should have no trouble earning. He’s also in the running for the AP Player of the Year Award.
